Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church here at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 24, for Mrs. Wm. L. (Martha Vande Berg), 80, life long resident of this area, who passed away Thursday at the Sioux Center Community hospital.

Services were conducted by the Rev. John Roggen and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery under the direction of Co-op Funeral Services.

Mrs. Vande Berg (nee Martha Bos) was born at Alton, April 17, 1886, and grew to womanhood in that community. She was married to Jerry Timmer in 1910. He passed away in 1936. Four years later, on March 6, 1940, she was married to William L. Vande Berg in Sioux Center and had since made her home here. Mr. Vande Berg preceded her in death in 1956.

Survivors include a son, Al Timmer, of Sioux Center; three step-sons, Laurence Vande Berg of Sioux Center, Henry Vande Berg of Orange City and David Vande Berg of Hawkeye, Iowa; one step-daughter, Mrs. Gerrit De Zeeuw of Orange City; 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Dick Groen of Sioux Center. She was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.
