The Rev. Albert H. Ten Clay, 68, of Orange City, died Wednesday in a hospital in Orange City after a 2 1/2 month illness.

Services were held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday in the American Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Delbert Vander Haar, the Rev. Henry Poppen, the Rev. Robert Hector, and Peter Thomas officiated. Burial was at 2 P.M., in the East Lawn Cemetery at Sheldon. Visitation was Friday from noon until 9 p.m., with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m., in the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Mr. Ten Clay was born Feb. 20, 1917, at Westfield, ND. He graduated from Central College in Pella in 1941 and Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Mich, in 1944. He married Ariyne De Vries, June 15, 1944, at Archer. They served pastorates in El Monte, CA, Oostburg, WI, and South Holland, IL. He was program director at Camp Manitoqua in Chicago and pastor of Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center. He later was a field secretary for the Particular Synod of the West of the Reformed Church of America, retiring in 1981.

Mr. Ten Clay was a member of the American Reformed Church of Orange City, Retired Ministers Association and the Ramblers. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of Central College and Hope College and served as vice president of the Board of Trustees at Northwestern College. He was a member of the Committee on Revision of Church Government for 18 years and served as its chairman for five years. In 1980 he was honored as Distinguished Alumnus of the Year by Central College.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Roger of Albuquerque, NM; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Marcia) Voss of Seattle, WA, and Mrs. Lynn (Denise) Sneller of Orange City; eight brothers, Dick, John & Charles, all of Sheldon, Dr. Henry of Sarasota, FL; the Rev. Ralph of Rochester, MN, the Rev. Ellsworth of Portage, Mich, Thelmar of Portland, OR, and Eugene of Springfield, IL; three sisters, Mrs. Herman (Margaret) Webb of Baker, OR, Mrs. Henry (Hattie) Van Bruggen of Holland, Mich., and Mrs. John (Edna) Haack of Hospers, and five grandchildren.
