Andringa, Marie (Mrs. Peter) 1876-1949

Death came to Mrs. Peter Andringa Thursday evening at 10 o’clock after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Monday in the home at 1:30 and in the American Reformed Church at 2 o’clock. The Rev. J. Veldman officiated. Burial was held in the Orange City Cemetery with Van Etten Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Marie Hopman was born in the Netherlands in 1876, the daughter of John Hopman and Jennie Prunk. She came to this country at the age of five. In 1897 she was married to Leonard Slikkerveer. To this union was born four children, Jennie, Mrs. LeRoy Crowley, who died in 1943, Frances, Mrs. Alvin Eason of Algona, Harold who died in infancy, and John of Akron, Ohio. Both Mrs. Eason and John were here for the funeral.

In 1931 she was married to Peter Andringa of Holland Nebraska.

Also surviving are a brother, Peter Hopman, and the following grandchildren, Donald, John, Jr., and Lois Slikkerveer of Akron, Phyllis, Nancy and David Crowley of LeMars, Mrs. James Potter and Mary Susan Eason of Algona.
