Died at his home near Kent MN in his seventy-third year Mr. Cahalan. The remains were brought to Perkins on the Great Northern accompanied by the sorrowing wife and children. Mr. and Mrs. Denis Putnam met them at the depot and on the early train on Tuesday the family and friends went with their loved one to Sheldon where he was laid to rest in the catholic cemetery.

The deceased leaves a wife, one son and four daughters and a son in law to mourn his loss. Mr. and Mrs. Cahalan moved about two years ago to Minnesota from Sioux County where they were old residents.

(The 1900 census lists the family - Michael Cahalan born Sep 1831 Ireland died 10 Feb 1905 at Kent, Wilkin MN. HIs wife was Ellen Judson Walker born 15 Oct 1853 Canada, died 28 Jul 1913 Wilkin MN. Children listed were - Morgan, Mary, Annie, Nellie, and Rachel. There may have been more children at Bridget 1879, Ellen 1883 and Jerome 1890.)
