Died at the home of his parents one and a half miles west of Perkins on Thursday January nineteenth after a few days illness. Robert De Joung (Jong) aged thirteen years. Robert was the oldest son in the family He was a bright helpful boy who will be greatly missed by his parents and in the family circle. The funeral services were held at the home and the remains were interred in Hope cemetery at Hull. A large concourse of relatives and friends attended to mingle their tears and show their sympathy with the bereaved parents.

Another paragraph in the same issue - Robert the thirteen year old son of Ben DeYoung ( DeJong) was buried last Saturday. His death occurred at his home in Rock township after a short illness of diabetes.

(Rommert De Jongy was born 15 Oct 1891 died 18 Jan 1905 buried in Hope Cemetery at Hull. His father was Berend 'Ben' De Jong born 1 Dec 1856 died 23 Jan 1927 Orange City and mother was Fokeltje G. De Vries born 8 Jan 1858 died 5 Mar 1945 Orange City - they had about ten children.
