Mrs. Kate Van Den Oever, 89 of Hull, died Saturday in a nursing home in Hull.

Services were at 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 1, in the First Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Gerald Vander Velde officiated. Burial was in Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Mrs. Van Den Oever, the former Kate Korthals, was born Feb. 15, 1896, near Sioux Center. She married Herman Mulder. He died Dec. 23, 1918. She married John Van Den Oever, Feb. 21, 1921 at Hull. They farmed near Hull until 1947 when they moved into town. He died Feb. 22, 1958. She had made her home at Pleasant Acres at Hull for a short time.

Mrs. Van Den Oever was a member of First Reformed Church and Martha Circle of the church.

Survivors include eight daughters, Mrs. Herman (Gertrude) Vander Vliet and Mrs. John (Jean) Vander Zwaag, both of Hull, Mrs. George (Henrietta) Wassenaar of Steen, MN; Mrs. John (Catherine) De Wit of Hull; Mrs. Anthony (Wilmina) Smit of Doon; Mrs. Donald (Joan) Boeve and Mrs. Marvin (Evelyn) Rens, both of Hills, MN; and Mrs. Hilmore (LaVonne) Kroese of Hull; one brother, Fred of Steen; two sisters, Mrs. Bert (Minnie) Bonestroo of Hull and Mrs. Peter (Effie) DeBoer of Boyden; 22 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
