William Jacob Timmer died at the Panaka Nursing Home at Hawarden on Tuesday, June 10, following a brief illness at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 17 days.

William Jacob Timmer was born at Valburg, Netherlands, September 23, 1873. He married Martha Baak at Valburg, Netherlands. The family came to this country in 1913 and made their home in Sioux Center, after a short stay in Grand Rapids, Mich. The family lived in Minnesota for one year before coming to Rock Valley in March 1923, where they have continued to make their home.

Mrs. Timmer passed away July 23, 1945. Two daughters, Ida & Fredericka preceded him in death.

He is survived by five children, Bernard of Doon, IA; Henrietta, Mrs. Gerrit Van Maanen; Peter, George & Jake of Rock Valley, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister in The Netherlands.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church at 1:30 with Rev. M. L. Jones officiating assisted by Rev. Henry Baak of Boyden, a nephew of the deceased. Interment was made beside his wife's grave in Valley View Cemetery. Pall bearers were Chris De Graaf, Delko Steck, Klaas Keyser, John De Ruyter, Wayne & Kinsey Schmidt.
