John Lakhorst (Lokhorst) who lived near Rick Valley died Monday of appendicitis at the age of thirty six years.

(In 1900 a John Lokhorst was a single farm hand born Neth, came in 1892, living in Plato Tsp. Sioux County. Don't know if Pieter Lokhorst and Jannetje Juffer were his parents or uncle and aunt. Immigration record shows family came to USA in 1892, on ship Maasdam from Rotterdam to NY, but the confusing part is the two Jan ( JOhn) Lokhorst were listed in the family one was 24 in 1892 and one was 16 in 1892. Since Pieter and Jannetje were married in 1873, then the first Jan was not a son of her. Guessing he was a nephew accompanying them.)
