Jacob Boeyink died Saturday evening at the Colonial Hospital in Rochester. He died at the age of 34 years, 10 months and 10 days. Mr.

Boeyink was born in Sioux Center and had spent his entire life time in this territory. He had worked for thirteen years for the local produce company following which he went to work for the railroad company. It was while he was employed there that he was inducted into the army.

Mr. Boeyink hadn’t enjoyed good health for a number of years but it wasn’t until only a few months ago that it became apparent that his condition was serious. He had been in the hospital at Sioux City for several days and from there he went to Rochester, where his condition was discovered as serious.The ailment was diagnosed as hotchkins disease, similar to cancer of the lungs.

He was married September 23, 1943 to Barbara Vos, and to this union three children were born, James 2 years and the twins Keith and Karen 3 ˝ months. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Ralph Boeyink and the following brothers and sisters; Gerrit H. Boeyink, Gladys (Mrs. Sam Bruinsma), Esther, all of Sioux Center; Leona (Mrs. Hallie Russell) of Colstrip, Montana; Joyce (Mrs. Jake Moeller) of Sioux Center; Roberta (Mrs. Donald Colon) of Sioux City, and Donna of Sioux Center. His father, Mr. Ralph Boeyink preceded him in death 8 years ago in May.

Military rites were held Tuesday, 1:00 o’clock at the Roy De Vos home, and 2:00 o’clock at Central Reformed Church, Rev. B. Ver Steeg officiating. Interment took place at the local cemetery.
