Henry Klein Beckman (Bekman) senior died of the infirmities of Old age Thursday morning after being ill for about six weeks. Deceased was born in Holland and came to America in 1889 with his family. He was a member of the first Reformed church and from the church the funeral will be held this Saturday afternoon at one thirty o'clock. There are left to mour three children. They are J. Klein Beckman and Mrs. A. Slothouber of Alton and Mrs. G. Koerselman of this place.

(The birth date of Hendrick ranges from 1819 - 1826. The immigration record states he was 70 in 1889 and she was 63 so the births could be turned around in later records. Her obit was not found but she died between 1889-1905 in the USA.
Hendrik and Janna Hofmeijer were married 22 Oct 1847 at Gorssel, Geld., Neth. He was the son of Hendrik Klein Bekman and Geertruid Beekman. Janna was the daughter of Janna Hofmeijer with no father listed.)
