Funeral services for Grace Timmer, 80, of Steen, Minn., were held Monday at Steen Reformed Church, Steen, with interment in Eastside Cemetery.

She died unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 13, 1994, at her home.

Grace Bartels was born March 21, 1913, at Carmel. She grew up and attended school in the Carmel area.

On June 15, 1934 she married Gus Timmer at Carmel.

They farmed near Steen. In 1952 they moved to Sioux Falls, SD, so their son, John David, could attend the South Dakota School for the deaf.

Grace worked part time in the kitchen and laundry departments at the School for the Deaf. They retired in 1976 and returned to Steen.

Her husband died July 4, 1987.

Survivors include one son, John David of Sioux Falls; two grandchildren; two brothers, Louis of Hills, MN, and Peter of Ripon, CA, and one sister, Mrs. Arnold (Jane) Bonnema of Steen.
