Sioux Center News, December 22, 1949 & January 29, 1949

Mr. Frank Vanden Brink died Friday morning at the home of his son Ed in Perkins. He had reached the age of 90 years, 11 months and 19 days. Mr. Vanden Brink was preceded in death by his wife who died over twenty years ago. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Johanna (Mrs. Martin Rotier). Mr. Vanden Brink came to Sioux County from Wright County in 1928 and resided in Sioux Center until only ten months before his death, at which time he moved in with his son, Ed. Mr. Vanden Brink is survived by two sons, William of Sioux Center, and Ed of Perkins and Libbie (Mrs. Tunis Vande Weide). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Mr. Vanden Brink is the last one of his family as all have preceded him in death in the Netherlands.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 27 from the Ed Vanden Brink home, at 1:30, Rev. J. Van Zweden officiating. Interment was made in the Sioux Center community cemetery.
