Funeral services were held Saturday, February 16, 1957, at 1:30 P.M., from the First Reformed Church of Boyden for Gerrit Vanden Brink, who passed away Wednesday at his home in Boyden after a lingering illness.

Services were held at the home at 1 P.M., immediately preceding the church services, Rev. H. Steuenberg officiated. Burial was in the Boyden cemetery under the direction of the Cooperative Funeral Services.

Mr. Vanden Brink was born July 4, 1877 at Ermeloo, Netherlands. He came to this country with his parents at the age of 8 years. He was married to Anna Feenstra, September 6, 1900 at Boyden.

He was preceded in death by his wife, who died November 12, 1955, three sisters and two brothers.

He leaves to mourn his death four sons, Jess of Adel, IA; Gerrit of Boyard, IA; Theodore of Knoxville, IA, and John of Adel, IA; one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Rowenhorst of Hospers; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pall bearers were: Le Roy Van Meeteren, Arie M. Bomgaars, Henry Broesder, Robert Henning, Wm. Oldenkamp and Jake Vander Hieden.

NOTE: The son Gerrit may have lived in Bayard, IA rather than Boyard as spelled in the obituary.
