Donald Royce Dougherty

Donald Royce Dougherty, 71, of Ireton, died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at his home in Ireton after a lengthy battle with cancer. Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Porter Funeral Home in Ireton with the Rev. Tim Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton with flag presentation by the American Legion Bertram Post #276 of Ireton. Porter Funeral Home in Ireton is in charge of arrangements.

Donald Royce Doughterty was born June 25, 1933 in Gaza, Iowa the son of Leo and Lula (Matheson) Dougherty. He married Susan Schwarz on June 13,1959.

Donald is survived by his wife, Susan; daughters, Laura Dougherty and Trish Anema and sons, Michael, John and David all of Ireton; four grandchildren; and three sisters, Faye DeVos of Ireton, Doris Vogelaar of Sheldon, and Jolene Tapp of California. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey at age 7.
