Hilda Vander Lugt, 70, of Hawarden died Thursday, July 25 in a nursing home in Hawarden.

Services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 27, in the Christian Reformed Church in Hawarden. The Rev. Tom De Does officiated. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. Visitation was from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, in the church. Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center was in charge.

Mrs. Vander Lugt, the former Hilda Blom, was born Jan. 10, 1915 in Orange City. She attended Orange City Christian School, Orange City Academy, Northwestern College and Stewart Beauty College. She married Dick Vander Lugt, Sept. 1, 1949, at Hawarden. They made their home in Hawarden.

Survivors include her husband, one stepdaughter, Mrs. Marlin (Darlene) Van Whhe of Ireton; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
