Sioux County Capital, October 11, 1982

Kyle VandeBerg, 17, of Spencer died Saturday in a two vehicle accident south of Milford.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday in the Hope Reformed Church in Spencer. The Rev. Al Moss will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery under the direction of the Warner Funeral Home.

Kyle was born April 17, 1965 in Spencer and was a member of the senior class in the Spencer High School.

He was a member of Hope Reformed Church, the National Honor Society and the Spencer Letterman's Club. He was active in varsity track, football and basketball and was voted Outstanding Athlete in the summer of 1982 at Northwestern Basketball Camp.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Paul VandeBerg of Spencer; one brother, Kevin of Ames; one sister, Karlon of Spencer and his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Art VandeBerg of Sioux Center and Mrs. Wilmer Wassink of Edgerton, Minn.
