Obituaries – STEPHEN KIEL.

Stephen Kiel, 86, died at the home of his son, John, west of Orange City, May 19, at 3 a.m. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 23, at the John Kiel home and at the First Christian Reformed Church. In the absence of Rev. Bronkema, Rev. O. Breen of Sioux Center officiated. Burial was at Sheldon.

Mr. Kiel was born April 29, 1859 in Groningen, The Netherlands. He came to the United States when a young man. He married Harmina Moorlag, who preceded him in death in 1902. Since then, he made his home with his son, John.

Surviving are the following children: Hayo of Alcester, S.D., Hans of Fairview, John, Gerrit of Pease, Minn., Jennie (Mrs. Mike Wybenga) of Bellflower, Calif., Albert of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Mae Robyn of Tacoma, Washington. Preceding him in death were Mrs. Henry Kramer, who died in 1941, and Pvt. Steve Kiel, who passed away in 1918.
