MRS. CHARLES MIEDEMA.
Mrs. Charles Miedema nee Frieda Van Dyk passed away Friday, May 14, at the age of 86 years and 10 months and 1 day. Mrs. Miedema was born in the Netherlands and came to America in 1920 with her husband and family. They settled on a farm near Orange City and shortly after moved to Ireton where they lived only a short time. After this they moved to Rock Valley where she spent the remainder of her life.

She was married to Charles Miedema on November 17, 1888 and had celebrated over 64 years together. Mr. Miedema preceded her in death on September 26. 1953.

She is survived by the following children, Sam of Fairview; Hilda, Mrs. Harry Halma of Inwood; Tjitse Miedema of the Netherlands and Rena, Mrs. Gerrit Harmelink of Rock Valley. Two sons preceded her in death, John of Sioux Center and Tjitkse of the Netherlands and two daughters died in infancy. She is further survived by 30 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 18 at the home at 1:00 and 1:30 at the Christian Reformed church of Rock Valley, Rev. Huissen, officiated. Burial was in the Rock Valley cemetery. Pall bearers were Henry Miedema, George Halma, Charles Halma, John Halma, Roger Halma and Martin Halma. Arrangements were by Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home of Sioux Center.
