Funeral services for Jennie Van Dyke, 91, of Rock Rapids were held Saturday in First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids with interment in Riverview Cemetery. She died Tuesday, May 23, 1989 in Lyon Manor Care Center.

Jennie Klein was born January 13, 1898 in The Netherlands. She moved to the United States in 1909 and settled in Sioux Center. She married Alfred Van Dyke March 13, 1917 in Steen, MN. The couple farmed in the Lester and Rock Rapids areas until 1947 when they retired into Rock Rapids. Her husband died in 1969. She became a resident of Lyon Manor in 1981.

Survivors include two sons, Garrit of Sturgis, SD, and John (Bill) of Rock Rapids; two daughters, Mrs. Tom (Gertie) Bouwman of Rock Rapids and Mrs. Frederick (Jeanetta) Kix of Sibley; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
