MRS. EVERT GUERINK [*GEURINK].
Funeral services were held at the Reformed Church in Alton at 10 A.M. May 5 for Mrs. Evert Guerink [*Geurink], 89, of Orange City, who died May 2 at the Orange City nursing home after a long illness. Services were conducted by the Rev. C. Greving and burial was in Nassau Township cemetery at Alton.

The former Abbie Scholten was born February 21, 1893, at Alton. She was married January 20, 1920, at Alton. The couple farmed southeast of Orange City. Mr. Scholten [*meant is Mr. Geurink]died last March 3. Survivors Include two sons, William and Harold, both of Orange City; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Anna Marie) Colberg of Gayville, S. D., and Mrs. Stanley (Henrietta) Slobe of Huntsville, Ala.; a sister, Mrs. August De Boer of Alton; five step-sisters, Mrs. Ray Riedeman of Sanborn and Mrs. Arie Jasper and the Misses Minnie, Margaret and Melvina Scholten, all of Orange City; a brother, Simon of Alton; two-half brothers, Gerald and John Scholten, both of Alton, and eight grandchildren.
