Obituaries – DENNIS RAAK.
Dennis Raak, 58, of Sioux Center died Wednesday at a hospital in Sioux City of long illness. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the First Reformed Church at Sioux Center. The Rev. Thurman Rynbrandt officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery, with the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Raak was born Feb. 23, 1924, in rural Ireton. He farmed until 1980. He served as an elder and a deacon and taught Sunday School, and was past president of the brotherhood, all at First Reformed Church. He married Eunice Menning Feb. 25, 1947 at Newkirk.

Survivors include the widow; one son, David of Ireton; four daughters, Mrs. Steve (Mariene) Schuur of Ireton, Mrs. Roger (Laura) Haug of Sioux Center, Mrs. Roger (Sandy) Langstraat of LeMars and Miss Rachel, at home; his mother, Minnie Raak of Sioux Center; five brothers, Clifford of Luverne, Minn., Kenneth of Worthington, Minn., Truman of Clymer, N.Y., Irwin of Jasper, Minn., and Vernon of Maurice; one sister, Mrs. Bob (Muriel) Griffen of South Korea and nine grandchildren.
