HAROLD MENNING.
Harold Menning, 66, of Newkirk died Sunday; March 28 in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Newkirk Reformed Church. The Rev. Eugene Voss officiated. Burial was in the Newkirk Cemetery. Family visitation was from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.

Mr. Menning was born June 3, 1915, in Alton and resided in Newkirk most of his life. He married Christine Pott Sept. 18, 1942, in Sheldon. He was a retired self-employed carpenter and was a member of the Newkirk Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Stan of Dawson, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. Laurie (Janet) Wielenga and Mrs. Randy (Darlene) Immeker, both of Orange City, and Mrs. Lee (Charlene) Palsma of Alton; his stepmother, Mrs. Mary Menning of Sioux City; three brothers, Marion of Newkirk, Virgil of Archer and Norman of Doon; five sisters, Mrs. Ed (Esther) Boone of Sheldon, Mrs. Sam (Evelyn) Brink of Hospers, Mrs. Dennis (Eunice) Raak of Sioux Center, Mrs. Sylvia Hornsby of Galveston, Texas, and Mrs. Carroll (Arlene) Brown of Monona; seven grandchildren; two stepbrothers, and three stepsisters.
