DEATH OF MRS. R. MENNING.
The death of Mrs. R. Menning occurred Tuesday morning, February 2nd at her home in Orange, City. Mrs. Menning was born at Pella, la., August 25th, 1860. At the age of 10 years, came with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Van Ess to Sioux county. March 30, 1881, she was united in marriage to R. Menning.

To this union eight children were born; all of whom are living and mourn the loss of a good mother. They are Mrs. N. Jonker of Orange City, Dr. Gerrit Menning of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Mrs. Wm. DeJong of Newkirk, Mrs. Kamphof of Sheldon, Simon of Newkirk, Mrs. H. Huisman of Platte, S. D. and Ralph and Bert of Newkirk. Besides the children there are 23 grandchildren, three brothers, John, Peter, and Gerrit Van Ess of this city and four sisters, Mrs. Roos, Mrs. J. Hospers, Mrs. C., Van Zyl and Mrs. Henry Hyink of Sheldon.

The funneral services were held Thursday afternoon, February 4 at 1:30 in the 1st Reformed church, Rev. Colenbrander conducting the service.—Orange City Journal.
