IKE BOER.
Ike Boer, 82, Sheldon, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1993 at North west Iowa Health Center, Sheldon. Memorial services were held Friday, Oct. 22 at First Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon. Rev. Jay Wesselink officiated. Burial was in RoselandCemetery, Sanborn, under direction of the Sanborn Funeral Home.

Mr. Boer was born Jan. 19, 1911, the son of Peter and Tillie (Kroese) Boer at Boyden. He lived his youth in the Boyden, Archer and Sanborn areas, receiving his education at Archer. He was united in marriage to Grace Bosma at Hospers on Feb. 2, 1939. Most of their married life was spent farming in the Sanborn area with the exception of a few years when they resided at Cloverdale and Sheldon.

They moved to Sheldon in October 1980. Mrs. Boer died on May 14, 1992. In April of 1993, Ike became a resident of the Christian Retirement Home at Sheldon. Mr. Boer was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Sheldon.

He is survived by his children: Peter and Nancy Boer of Elmhurst, Ill., Irvin and Thelma Boer of Denver, Colo., and Loretta and Ken Rowenhorst of Orange City; grandchildren, Steven, David, Thomas, Philip and Michael Boer, Randall and Stephanie Boer and Mark and Pam (Rowenhorst) TenNapel and Paul Rowenhorst; one brother, Clarence of Edgerton, Minn.; three sisters, Jessie Bootsma of Sanborn, Helen Van’t Slot of Holland, Mich., Evert and Marie (Boer) Rutgers of Sheldon, and a sisterin-law, Frances Boer of Sheldon. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Grace, and three brothers, Ralph, John and Peter.
