William E. Grotenhuis.

William E. "Bill" Grotenhuis, 72, of Hospers, died Thursday, Oct. 21,1993 at the Orange City Hospital after a long illness. Graveside services were held on Monday, Oct. 25 at 10:30 a.m. at ihe Hospers Cemetery. Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. at the First Reformed Church, Hospers. The Rev. Mike Pitsenberger officiated. Arrange-ments were made by the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home, Hospers.

Mr. Grotenhuis was born Jan. 28, 1921 at Hospers, the son of Ed and Henrietta (Oolbekkink) Grotenhuis. He attended public school in Hospers and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II in England. He married Luella Den Hartog July 18, 1945 at Hospers. He was a member of Hospers' First Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife and four children, a daughter and her husband, Lois and Denny Kinney of Le Mars, and three sons, Ed of Alton, Bill and his wife Kitty of Sioux City, and David and his wife Karen, stationed with the U.S. Air Force in England; six grandchildren, Mickey Kinney and Michele, Eric, James, Starla and Michael Grotenhuis; two stepgrandchildren, Greg and Alicia LeJeune. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harley. Pallbearers were Ed, Bill, Dave, Erik and James Grotenhuis and Denny Kinney.
