Winnie De Bruin.

Winnie De Bruin, 93, of Sheldon, formerly of Hospers, died Wednesday, December 6, at Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon. Memorial services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Reformed Church in Hospers with the Rev. Milt Sikkema officiating. Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Saturday in Hospers Cemetery.

Mrs. De Bruin was born October 15, 1907, in rural Pipestone, Minnesota, the daughter of Dirk and Betje (Vander Kamp) Wesselink. She moved with her family to Hospers as a child. She was confirmed in the Reformed faith. She married "Bug" De Bruin on August 23, 1929, in Sioux City. She was a homemaker and employed as a bookkeeper with Hospers Grocery Store for several years. She entered Christian Retirement Home in Sheldon in 1996. Her husband died May 23, 1998.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Joyce and Don Adkins of Hospers, Marilyn and Herm Vander Maten of Tucson, Arizona, and Donna and Jed Nibbelink of Valencia, California; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Gertrude Hulstein of Sheldon; and a sister-in-law, Margeurite De Bruin of Clinton. She was preceded in death by three
brothers and three sisters.
