Agnes Van Klompenburg, 98, of Orange City died Thursday, August 6, at Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Reformed Church of Orange City with the Rev. Steven Vander Molen officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery.

The former Agnes Hoekstra was born February 20, 1894, in Minnertsga, The Netherlands, the daughter of John and Martha Hoekstra. She came to the United States with her family at age 14. She married Ike Van Klompenburg February 4, 1915, in Orange City. The couple farmed in the Sioux County area until 1950, when they moved to Maurice. They moved to Orange City in 1955. He died July 17, 1975, in Orange City. She became a resident of Heritage House in July 1990. She was a member of First Reformed Church.

Survivors include a son and his wife, James and Marvella of Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Audrey Van Klompenburg of Montevideo, Minnesota; a brother, Cornie Hoekstra of Orange City; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Daisy and Martha, and a son, John.
