William Hiram Taylor, 59, Ireton, died Saturday at his home after a sudden illness. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bloodworth officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under direction of the Memorial Funeral Home, Sioux Center.

Mr. Taylor was born Jan. 11, 1918 in Ireton. He married Vera Jean De Zeeuw June 11, 1946 in Sioux Center. They farmed in the Ireton area. He served in World War II with the U.S. Army in Europe.

Survivors include his widow; four sons, Thomas of Hudson, S.D., Douglas of Sioux Center and Ward and Wally, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Floyd Taylor of Sioux Center, and three grandchildren.
