OBITUARIES – Hattie Vink.

Hattie Vink, 82, of Rock Valley died Wednesday in a Sioux Falls, S.D. hospital of injuries suffered in an automobile accident in rural Rock Valley. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley. The Rev. Roger Bultman officiated. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery at Doon.

Mrs. Vink, the former Hattie Van Bemmel, was born Nov. 19, 1901, in Barneveld, Gelderland, The Netherlands. She came to the United States and the Rock Valley area in 1917. She married Marinus Boon Feb. 5, 1920, near Rock Valley. They farmed in the Rock Valley area until his death Jan. 24, 1951.

On Oct. 28, 1960, she married Dick Vink. They made their home in Rock Valley. He died Jan. 3, 1975. Survivors include five sons, Andrew, Elmer and John Boon, all of Rock Valley, Ben Boon of Rock Rapids and Marvin Boon of Schofield, Wis.; seven daughters, Mrs. Herman (Mary) Steensma of Byron Center, Mich., Mrs. Gerrit (Henrietta) Nibbelink of Inwood, Mrs. Gerald (Gert) Van Engen and Mrs. Marinus (Grace) Van Hofwegen, both of Rock Valley, Mrs. Bernard (Martha) De Jager of Edgerton, Minn., Mrs. Dale (Hilda) Vink of Doon and Mrs. Virgil (Joan) Horstman of Hull; two brothers, John of Orange City and Joe of Kalispell, Mont.; two sisters, Mrs. William (Jeanette) Peterson of Shilo, Ohio and Mrs. Abe (Cornelia) Haak of Hills, Minn.; 53 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.
