Ella Roggen Passed Away Last Sunday
Funeral Services Were Held Wednesday From Her Home; Interment in Hope Cemetery

After being bedfast for more than two years, Ella Roggen passed into eternity on November 19 at the age of 66 years.

She was born in the Netherlands and at the age of three years came to this country with her parents, and lived near Alton, Iowa for fourteen years and near Middleburg until 1908 and since that time has lived at Hull.

She leaves to mourn her passing, three brothers and three sisters: Gerrit of Sheldon; Jim of Boyden and Rev. John Roggen of Maurice, and Kate (Mrs. Henry Koerselman); Mary (Mrs. Hank Koele) both of Hull and Tilly (Mrs. L. H. Lutjens) of Sheldon.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the decedent's home at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. H. Van't Kerkhoff in charge. Interment was made in the local cemetery. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved brothers and sisters by a host of friends here.

News notes and court proceedings in various newspapers earlier in 1944 show that she was under guardianship (John De Koster), and that Sidney Boogerd and his wife were employed by the guardian in May 1944 to live in her home and care for her.

The Sioux County Cemetery Index gives her birth year as 1878.
