From the August 20, 1904 Alton Democrat - Granville news

Twin boys were born to Mr. and Mrs. Bernard last Thursday. On died about three hours after birth and was buried next day at the Catholic cemeery. The other is enjoying good health.

(From the obituary of Frank Bernard 1904-1986 is found the family of baby Edward. His parents were Bernard and Anna (Paradeis) Bernard. Siblings were Frank his twin brother, Lawrence, Mary, Catherine, and Olivia.)
