Gerald P. (Gerry) Beyer died peacefully on Sunday, February 27, of various complications related to old age. He was 88.

He was born in Hospers, Iowa on December 19, 1922, the youngest of five children of Garritt & Dena Beyer. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, LaVonne A. (Schafer) Beyer of Woodland Hills, CA; three children, Gregg (Diane Lasichak) of Leesburg, Virginia; Doug Beyer (Connie) of Kaunakakai, Molokai, Hawaii, Jodie of San Francisco, a sister Ann (Roetman) of Sioux Center, Iowa; two grandsons (Michael (Kimberly) and Stefan and numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068 on Friday, March 4th from 3 to 7 p.m. Private interment will be at Forest Lawn, followed by a memorial service at the St. James Presbyterian Church, 19414 Ventura Blvd., Tarzana, CA at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 5th. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rotary Foundation, c/o Clare Short, 19165 Rosita St. Tarzana, CA 91356.
