Sioux Center News, March 30, 1983

Mrs. Lawrence Bylsma, 60, of Hull died Tuesday in a Rock Valley hospital after a long illness.

Services were held Friday in the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Marvin Heyboer officiated. Burial was in Hope Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday in the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Mrs. Bylma the former Julia Vander Vliet, was born July 22, 1922, near Hull.

She married Lawrence Bylsma Aug. 6, 1941, at Glendale, Calif. They made their home at Hull. She was employed by Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in Hull during the 1970's.

She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church and its women's organizations.

Survivors include her husband, three sons, Larry, Bernard and David, all of Hull, three daughters, Mrs. Roy (Janice) Bliek of Hull; Mrs. John (Helen) DeKam of Doon and Mrs. James (Peggy) Van Kekerix of Fountain, Colo., her mother, Mrs. Harriet Vander Vliet of Hull, three brothers, Herman of Hull, Henry of Brea, Calif, and Stanley of Colton, SD; four sisters, Mrs. Mathilda Kuipers and Mrs. Bernard (Henrietta) Meendering, both of Hull; Mrs. Gerrit (Annetta) Ter Maat of Hickman, Neb., and Mrs. Henry (Bernice) Vink of Colton, and 13 grandchildren.
