Funeral services will be held Friday, November 30, at 1 p.m., at the home and at 1:30 at the Christian Reformed Church of Rock Valley, for Mrs. Simon Van Der Schaaf, who passed away Sunday afternoon, at the Sioux Center Community hospital after suffering a stroke Thanksgiving day, November 22.

Interment will be held at the Lebabon cemetery. Van Etten and Vander Ploeg Funeral Homes are in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Tillie Baron was born in The Netherlands, November 24, 1874, and came to America at the age of 12. She was united in marriage to Simon Van Der Schaaf, March 30, 1899. To this union 13 children were born. They lived in Plato township until 1937 when they moved to Lebanon and in 1948 to Rock Valley.

Preceding her in death were her husband on August 5, 1956, and one son, Henry.

Surviving are 12 children: Arthur of Alberta, Canada; Florence, Mrs. Jake Feikema of Duluth, Minn.; Dora, Mrs. John Brower, of Doon, IA; William of Custer, SD; Richard of Colton, SD; Mary, Mrs. Henry Halmers of West Liberty, IA; Sadie, Mrs. James Zeilenga of Omaha, Neb; Martin, who is in Guam, Mariana Island; Simon, Jr. of Luverne, Minn; Bert of Chicago, Ill; Jerry of Sioux Falls, SD; and John of Sioux Center. Also surviving are 32 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
