Agnes Vander Schaaf, 82, of Hull died Friday, January 12, at her residence in the Homestead of an apparent heart attack.

Services were at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 16, at American Reformed Church in Hull with the Rev. Phillip Sneller officating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery, Hull.

Mrs. Vander Schaaf was born June 13, 1913, in Sheldon, the daughter of Dick & Jennis (Nettinga) Kreulen. She moved with her parents to Hull at the age of 10 and graduated from Hull High School in 1931. She then moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she lived with and assisted her sister Kathryn's family and also worked as a nanny and housekeeper. She married Douwie J. Vander Schaaf, November 23, 1937 at Kansas City. The couple made their home in Hull. He died September 23, 1983, in Sioux Falls.

She was a member of American Reformed Church, where she had served as secretary of the Guild for Christian Service and was a member of Reformed Church Women's Ministries and the Ruth Circle. She was an avid reader.

Survivors include three sons, Derek and his wife Karen of Falls Church, Virginia; Dale and his wife Ruth of Ames, and Dean of Durham, North Carolina; two daughters and their husbands, Rebecca & Duane Woodward of Hull, and Karla and Dwight Hymans of Muncie, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; a great granddaughter, and two step-grandsons.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Hull Public Library.
