Bert Van De Hoef

Bert Van De Hoef, age 88, of Boyden, died Monday, Aug. 24, 1992 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital. Bert, who was actually named John Albert, was born Feb.4,1904 at Boyden, the son of William and Janna (Lagendyk) Van De Hoef. He lived his entire life within one fourth of a mile from where he was born. On Jan. 6,1928, he married Cora Van Nyhuis at Sheldon. They fanned at Boyden, semi-retiring in 1962. He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Boyden.

Survivors include his wife; son, Robert and his wife Shirley of Newkirk; daughter, Cornelia and her husband Craig Camarigg of Sanborn; seven grandchildren, Kerry and her husband Norman Nieuwenhuis, DeAnn Vande Hoef, Peggy and her husband Charles Merriam, Scott Vande Hoef, the Rev. Alan Camarigg and his wife Wanda, Dwayne Camarigg and his wife Libby, and Denise and her husband Mark Bonnet; 11 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Cora Notting of Edgenon, Minn., and Margaret Dykshom of Sheldon. He was preceded in death by a greatgrandson;

two sisters, Jane Leusink and Pauline Hulstein; and three brothers, Paul, Jake and Willis. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Aug. 27,1992 at the First Reformed Church of Boyden. The Rev. Mark Volkers officiated. Interment followed at Sheridan Township Cemetery at Boyden, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
