Mrs. C. J. (Cornelius Johannes) Schaap died very suddenly July the 7th, 1921 at the age of 59 years and 6 months.

Her maiden name was Tryntje J. (Jacobs) Roos a native of Holland. She came with her parents to America when she was a child of three years old and grew to womanhood in Iowa.

She was untied in marriage to C. J. Schaap in the year 1880 at Ackley IA, where he confessed her faith to the Chr. Ref. Church of which she stayed a faithful member. To their marriage were born eight children of which one precede her in death. The names of those living are: John, Kate, Jake, Mary, Cora, Annie and Cornie. Besides there are her faithful and loving husband she is survived by nineteen grandchildren.

Mrs. Schaap was buried in Hope Cemetery Saturday July 9th services being held at the home and at the Chr. Ref. church conducted by Rev. J. J. Weersing.
