Bryan Van Wyke, 79, of Ireton died January 19 at the Hawarden Hospital.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m., January 22 at the Christian Reformed Church in Ireton. The Rev. Bernard Fynaardt officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under direction of the Dow Funeral Home of Ireton.

Mr. Van Wyke was born January 1, 1897, in Orange City. He married Alice Ganzeveld, February 2, 1913 in Edgerton, Minn. She died Jan. 4, 1953.

He farmed in the Ireton area until his retirement in 1962, when he moved into Ireton.

He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include three sons, William, Phillip and David, all of Ireton; three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Marcia) Van Gelder of Pipestone, Minn., and Mrs. Delbert (Jewell) Schipper, Jr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Karen) Reinking, both of Ireton; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Pete of Ireton and William of Hawarden.
