Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Barnard Funeral Home for Mrs. Verna Warley, 66, of Minneapolis. Rev. John C. Thorns officiated and burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Warley was the former Verna Harlan, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. L. L. Harlan, early day residents of Hawarden. Mr. Harlan operated a drug store here many years.

Mrs. Warley was born in Hawarden, March 15, 1890. After graduating from high school here she was graduated from the Iowa State college at Ames.

She married Casper Warley of Minot, N.D., June 15, 1915, and lived at Minot and Fargo N.D. before going to Minneapolis.

Before her marriage she was employed by the Pillsbury Mills and the Edison Co. After Mr. Warley entered the services during World War I, she served as county extension chairman for Palo Alto county with headquarters at Emmetsburg, Iowa.

Mr. Casper and a daughter, Mrs. R. A. Hutchinson of Pasco, Wash., accompanied the body here. She is also survived by another daughter, Mrs. Norbert Medred of Portland, Ore.; six grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lou Harlan of Tampa, Fla. and two nieces.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Harlan, who also at one time was in the drug store business in Hawarden.
