Mrs. John Van Surksum, 87, Rock Valley, died Monday in the Valley Manor Nursing Home. Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m.in the Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley. Burial in Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley.

She was the former Gertrude Rempt, born in the Netherlands. She married John in 1923; he died on August 22,1968.

Survivors include 5 sons; Bernard, Jenison, Mich; Richard, Rock Valley; Wm. And John, Jr., Doon; Gerard, Sioux Falls; Mrs. Peter (Grace) Van Veldhuizen, Canton; Mrs. Cornelius (Johanna) Teunissen, Bryon Center, Mich.; 34 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
