Funeral service were held at the First Reformed church at Alton July 5 for Mrs. Cornie Van SDurksum, 64 of Alton who died July 3 of a heart attack. Services were conducted by the Rev. C. Graving and burial was made in the Nassau township cemetery at Alton.

Mrs. Van Surksum, the former Kathryn Vander Schaaf, was born Oct. 6, 1904, at Newkirk. She was married to Cornie Van Surksum August 2, 1927 at Orange City.

Survivors include the widower, a son Edwin, of Omaha; a daughter Mrs. Merle (JoEllen) Sorgdrager of Rock Rapids; three sisters, Mrs. M. Vander Velde of Sheldon , Mrs. Reuben De Valois and Mrs. William Top of Orange City; a brother Stuart of Spirit Lake: and two granddaughters.
