Alvin A. Bonestroo, 61, of Hull, died Friday, June 18 at his residence after an illness of two years.

Services were 1:30 p.m., Monday at the First Reformed Church in Hull, with the Rev. Gerald Vander Velde officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery. Visitation was after 10:30 a.m., Sunday, with family present from 2 p.m., to 4 p.m., at the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Bonestroo was born May 26, 1930, at Perkins, son of Bert & Minnie (Korthals) Bonestroo. He married Agnes Buma, December 28, 1949, at Perkins. They lived at Perkins and Rock Valley, where he was employed at Dykstra Produce. In 1953, they moved to Hull, where he worked at Plasier Plumbing. In 1957, he began a 34 year career with the Iowa State Bank of Hull, 32 of them as a teller.

He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Hull.

Survivors include his wife; three sons and daughters-in-law; Dennis & Sue of Boyden, Dwayne & Rhonda, and Lyle & Cindy, all of Hull; a daughter and son-in-law, Lois & Ken Oosternink of LeMars, and a daughter, Lora, of Hull; 11 grandchildren, Leah & Melissa Oosternink; Tracey & Joel Wilkins, and Scott, Jennifer, Carl, Joel, Bruce, Tara and Meagan Bonestroo; his mother, of Hull; four brothers, Thomas A. and Gerald, both of Hull, Leonard of Boyden and Fred of Sheldon; and a sister, Albertha Rozeboom, of Sioux Falls.

He was preceded in death by his father and four brothers, Egbert, Henry, Benjamin and Edward in infancy.
