Rock Valley Bee, August 24, 1988

A former Rock Valley resident, Donald Patrick Bogaard, 55, of North Little Rock, Arkansas died August 11 following a long illness. He was a Korean War veteran, a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and volunteer worker for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Bogaard, a daughter, Mary Bogaard of North Little Rock; his mother, Katherine Bogaard of Rock Valley; two sisters Helen Qualls and Elaine Keegan of Denver.

Funeral services were held August 13 at Rose Catholic Church in Carlisle. Burial in Checkz National Cemetery near Hazen.
