John Bomgaars, 86, of Hull died Friday, April 23, at his residence.

Funeral services were Monday, April 26, at 1 P.M., at Free Grace Reformed Church in Middleburg with the Rev. Stephen Breen officiating. Burial was at Capel Township Cemetery, near Middleburg.

John Arie Bomgaars was born April 11, 1913, in Orange City, the son of John A. & Kate (Vander Wilt) Bomgaars. He was raised at Middleburg. He married Jennie Frances Vander Zwaag at Middleburg, March 19, 1936. They farmed near Middleburg. They moved to Sioux Center in 1955. He had lived on the same farm for 80 years. She died February 13, 1997, in Sioux Center. He moved to Hull in August 1997.

He was a lifelong member of Free Grace Reformed Church.

Survivors include his five children, Janice and her husband Kenneth McMurray of Marion; Carol and her husband Wallace Groeneweg of Sheldon; Linda Eastlick of Okoboji; David Bomgaars and his wife Colleen of Sioux Center, and Paula Krumm of Hull; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Artha Bomgaars of LeMars.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Arie John Bomgaars.
