Clarence N. Bomgaars, 80, of Sioux Center died on Tuesday, November 4, at his residence.
Services were at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center on Thursday, with the Rev. Brian Steenhoek officiating. Burial was at Memory Gardens in Sioux Center.
Bomgaars was born on August 5, 1917 in Sioux Center, the son of Nick & Cora (Hubers) Bomgaars. He attended rural school and was graduated from Sioux Center High School in 1935.
He married Dorothy Poppen on June 28, 1946, in Sioux Center.
He was a farmer. He served as Welcome Township clerk and assessor for many years. He was a member of Central Reformed Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons and their wives, Roger & Minerva of Sioux Center; David & Anita of Orange City, and C. Eugene & Amy of Sheldon; a daughter, Marilyn Mayberry of Orange City; and 10 grandchildren, Madison Mayberry and Angela, Emily, Ryan, Megan, Christopher, Curtis, Jill, Anne and Katherine Bomgaars.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Nelson, and two brothers, John N. and Arie N. Bomgaars.
