Sioux Center News, December 12, 1984

Arie M. Bomgaars, 77, of Orange City died Monday, December 3 in the Orange City hospital.

Services were at 1:30 P.M., Thursday, December 6, at the First Reformed Church. The Rev. Cecil Martens and the Rev. Frank Snuttjer officiated. Burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery. Family visitation was held from 7:30 to 8:30 P.M., Wednesday, December 5, in the Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City.

Mr. Bomgaars was born Feb. 4, 1907 at Boyden and was a life long Sioux County resident. He married Cornelia Vander Poel, Dec. 21, 1928, at Orange City. They moved to Orange City from Boyden in 1960. He had been active in Electrolux Sales and Service for the last 27 years and was semi-retired.

Mr. Bomgaars was a member of the First Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife: three sons, Marvin of Mason City, Marion of Cincinnati, Ohio, and LeRoy of Libertyville, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Gerrit (Celia) Miersma of Bellflower, Calif., and Mrs. Wessel (Margaret) Van Riesen of Sanborn, and six grandchildren.
