Boeyink, Mrs. John (Clara) - 1880-1962

Sioux Center News, June 7, 1962

Funeral services were held at Central Reformed Church here at 3 P.M., Saturday, June 2, for Mrs. John Boeyink, 81, a resident of Sioux Center for nearly 60 years, who died at the Orange City Community hospital late Thursday after a lingering illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. A. Hook and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery with Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Boeyink, nee Clara Muilenburg, was born October 22, 1880, at Harrison, SD. On April 29, 1903 she was united in marriage with John Boeyink of Sioux Center and the couple made their permanent home here. Mr. Boeyink passed away April 1, 1957.

Survivors include a son, Henry, Jr. of Oskaloosa; three daughters, Adelaide (Mrs. Don Jurrians) of Orange City; Sylvia (Mrs. Clarence Van Wechel) of Kellogg, IA, and Dorothy (Mrs. Erwin Hoppel) of Vinton, IA; two sisters, Mrs. Cornelia Kalsbeek of Los Angeles and Josephine Muilenburg of Los Angeles; five brothers, Asa Muilenburg of Sioux Center; Dave Muilenburg of Sheldon; Hubert Muilenburg of Orange City; Alan Muilenburg of Artesia, CA, and Harvey Muilenburg of Los Angeles; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Pall bearers were Wilbur Kleene, Nolan Muilenburg, Bill Schutt, Harold Boeyink; Gary Boeyink and Louis Boeyink.

NOTE: Birth should be checked against Sioux County birth records, they moved to South Dakota in about 1885. She may have been born in or near Orange City.
