Boeyink, Ralph - 1881-1941

Sioux Center News, May 8, 1941

Ralph Boeyink passed away at his home Saturday evening at 8:30 (possibly 9:30). Although Mr. Boeyink has been ailing since last August he became critically ill last Friday from a heart ailment and kidney complications.

He was sixty years of age at the time of his death. He was born at Alto, Wis., February 19, 1881. In the fall of 1885 he moved with his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Henry Boeyink and family from Wisconsin and settled on a farm northwest of town.

In 1908 he was united to Agnes Muilenburg. He was an active member in the First Ref. Church. Four years ago he became a member of the Central Reformed Church. He was a well known farmer, always living near Sioux Center and in 1927 he and his family moved to town. The last four years he has been employed at the Farmers Lumber yard.

He leaves to mourn a beloved wife, and 8 children: Gary and Mrs. Gladys Bruinsma who are married, and six at home, Jake, Esther, Leona, Joyce, Roberta and Donna, and 6 grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Will Kleene of Hull and two brothers, Gerrit and John of Sioux Center, also survive. Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, 1:00 at the home and 1: 30 at the Central Reformed Church with Rev. Brunsting officiating. Burial took place at the local cemetery.
