Hawarden Independent, February 25, 1915

William Henry Boggess died at his home in Sioux City Monday from heart trouble at the age of 63 years. He was a former well known resident of Sioux county, having resided at Rock Valley for a number of years, later moving to this city where he made his home for a dozen years or more. Several years ago he moved to Sioux City and that place continued to be his home until his death. He was a carpenter by trade and for many years was engaged in the construction of grain elevators at various places through this section of the country. He made many friends in Hawarden who knew him as a model up-right citizen and they learn with deep regret of his demise. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. G. O. Kidder, formerly pastor of the Methodist Church in this city, and interment was made in Graceland Park cemetery in Sioux City. He is survived by wife, a daughter, Mrs. Harry Gardner of Sioux City, and five sons, Oliver C., and Bernard Boggess of Hawarden, Albert C. and Ernest Boggess of Sioux City, and Archie Boggess of LeMars.
