John Van Houte Former Orange Cityan Passes On.
OBITUARY

John Van Houte was born July 24, 1882, in Halefweg, 'Netherlands. He came to this country,with his parents in 1883. He attended schools in South Holland, Illinois and-Holland, Mich.

He was married in Montana, his wife and infant daughter preceding him in death. In 1914 he joined the forces of the United states and served on the Mexican border. He enlisted for service in World War I, and served 16 months overseas.

He was seriously injured in a crossing accident in Billings, Montana in Aug. 1936. He was admitted to the Veterans Hospital at Sheridan, Wyoming where he spent the last ten years of his life. He passed away Oct. 21, 1946 from pneumonia.

He leaves four brothers andi two sisters to mourn his departure: Gerrit of Newberry, Calif., Jeanette of South Pasedena, Calif., Marinus of Santa Rosa, Calif.,-Jacob, .Henry and Mary Rensink of (Boyden, Iowa.
